I had some electric issues with my Boston Whaler from a previous mechanic who did sloppy, unsafe work. Took a chance on Joe and i'm very pleased. I work on my own boat but electric is something I don't do. He explained everything up front, found other issues as well, and repaired them properly and in a timely manner. Joe is very personable and explains everything to you. When we bought our first boat we weren’t sure where to go for service. When I called Bullet Proof Marine Service and spoke with Joe I felt he was definitely the person we could trust with our boat. When we took our boat to Joe he made us feel comfortable and took the time to explain everything he saw that needed addressed on the boat. As Joe made the repairs he sent us videos and pictures of the progress. Joe did the job right the first time and our boat has been running great. We’ll definitely take our boat back to Joe.

Joe and the whole Bulletproof Marine crew are the most professional and trustworthy service in San Diego. I had some badly damaged fiberglass by the toe rail. Being an older 1980 Hatterass they were able to match the paint flawlessly and shape the fiberglass to come out with a factory look and finish. Being in the military and liveaboard it was important to use someone who was very professional and get things done in a timely manner. 10 out of 10 for Joe and his crew. I will without hesitation be calling Joe for any questions or services needed for my yatch.

I bought a old gas boat back in July (big mistake) . I battled with fixing things and hiring different people to do different things. Every time we would fix one thing there would be 10 other things so I decided to stop screwing around and find the best. I saw how highly rated Joe and his team were so I had them do the job top to Bottem. The work was done perfectly including the rewiring of the entire vessel. The project took five times longer than expected but Joe was always in contact with me and helped guide me through the process. Now I have a 42 foot hatteras that I would not think of giving the contract to anyone but Joe. If you want it done right.

Joe and his team are an incredibly dedicated, detailed orientated team of hard workers. Have seen him pull off the impossible over and over again. I bought a 30 year old famous yacht from the Sandra Bullock movie “The Net”and he helped resto mod the twin engine crusaders into absolute legends on the pier. These things are beasts! Then he re-wired the entire engine room so it was safe and up to current standards. The cost was expected and you get the best for what you pay. Joe is honest. His team is honest. They treat your boat and respect it like it was their own. He pulled everything apart. Cleaned it, rebuilt what could be saved and suggested the best parts available based on my budget. If you have a job that requires skill and must be done right, this is the team. I observed, helped and stayed out of the way over the two months my build took and I’m proud to have had this legend build the heart of my yacht. I have gained a friend in this undertaking.

He’s a good business man who is highly skilled, honest, smart and very personable. Boat repair places come and go, so I took a leap of faith and called joe using a phone book. I thought “ bulletproof” meant he was pro NRA. We had a good laugh over that and that started our good working relationship. I don’t believe there is anything Joe can’t do. He is amazing. After my husband put the batteries in backwards, Joe went through all the electrical replacing fuses, parts, and rebuilding parts. From there he worked on getting the boat ready for sale and ready to launch. He detailed the boat and made trailer upgrades. Joe then set up an account with Boat Trader and sent me all inquiries. He has been there for me and even went out on the water with a perspective buyer to show off the boat and to give him honest info on the reliability of the boat. Joe will be my friend for life... with honesty, integrity, and highly skilled in so many areas. Good people and good businesses are hard to find. I had a new 150 gallon fuel tank installed in my Parker 2310 (Big Eyed Fish) and Joe did all the fiberglass and non skid work. The work is flawless and working with Joe was very pleasant. He communicated well and walked me through the entire process. I will be bringing my boat back this winter for some gelcoat touch ups and a full fiberglass polish. 5 stars! -John

Bullet Proof is the most honest mechanic I know! They went through my entire boat, giving me great recommendations. He didn't pressure us at all and when I was expecting to pay for the estimate, Joe only requested a handshake.
